ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's basketball team (6-0) matched the program's best start in 14 years, rolling to a 67-49 win over visiting St. Lawrence (2-2) 67-49 Friday in Ben Light Gymnasium.
The Bombers held the Saints to 16 first-half points, shooting 58.3 percent from the floor while harassing St. Lawrence into missing 19 of 25 shots en route to a 40-16 lead at intermission.
Junior center
Devin Shea (St. Basil Academy/Huntingdon Valley, Pa.) and sophomore forward
Jenn Escobido (Norwich Free Academy/Lisbon, Conn.) both scored 12 points to lead the Bombers.
Shea added four steals and
Escobido contributed three assists.
Freshman forward
Samantha Klie (Ramapo/Wyckoff, N.J.) scored a career-best 10 points in just 16 minutes off the bench.
Senior guard
Jessica Farley (Pine Valley/South Dayton) collected six assists, five steals and four rebounds.
The Bombers host #4 Rochester Tuesday at 7 p.m.
