ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Ithaca College women's basketball team (3-0) continued its perfect start, topping the visiting SUNY Institute of Technology Wildcats (0-1) 70-60 Saturday. The Bombers are off to the program's best start since the 1997-98 team won six straight to start the season.
Senior guard
Jessica Farley (Pine Valley Central/South Dayton) led Ithaca with 17 points and junior center
Devin Shea (St. Basil Academy/Huntingdon Valley, Pa.) added a career-best 16.
Farley added a career-best eight steals, pulled down seven rebounds and dished out a team-best four assists.
Shea pulled down five boards.
Sophomore guard
Kathryn Campbell (Wall/Spring Lake, N.J.) led Ithaca with eight rebounds. She scored 12 points and contributed three steals. Senior guard
Jacqueline Shinall (Joel Redding/Barlow, Conn.) matched
Farley with four assists.
The Bombers harassed the Wildcats into shooting 30.6 percent from the floor in the first half, taking a 12-point lead into intermission after ending the half on a 13-4 run;
Shea scored six points in that stretch and
Farley had a a hand in eight of Ithaca's points.
The Bombers are idle until traveling to Potsdam on Sunday, Nov. 27.
