Bombers Drop 34-10 Football Decision To #17 St. John Fisher

Rochester, N.Y. -- The football team (4-2, 1-1 Empire 8) lost 34-10 at #17 St. John Fisher (6-0, 2-0 Empire 8) Saturday.

Senior quarterback Rob Zappia threw for 226 yards, completing 26 passes, including a two-yard touchdown to senior wide receiver Thomas Vossler. Vossler caught six passes for 54 yards with classmate Dan Ruffrage catching five passes for 60 yards.

Strong safety David Ahonen, a graduate student, and junior cornerback Spence White led Ithaca with eight tackles apiece. White intercepted a pass in the end zone. Sophomore linebacker Will Carter and sophomore free safety Josh Liemer were in on seven tackles apiece. Junior cornerback Mike Conti made five tackles, intercepted one pass and broke up two others. Senior defensive tackle Andrew Haim recorded three tackles for loss; Carter, senior linebacker Morgan Abdlenour and senior end Matt Dibble added two apiece.

Junior Andrew Rogowski kicked a 33-yard field goal in the second quarter.

The Bombers are idle until Saturday, Oct. 24, when they host Springfield.
