Late Goal Lifts Men's Soccer To Tie At St. Lawrence

Canton, N.Y. - The Ithaca men's soccer team scored a goal in the 85th minute to pull even with St. Lawrence and the game finished in a 1-1 tie after overtime Sunday at MacAllester Field. The Bombers (3-7-4) snapped a five-game winning streak by the Saints, who are now 10-2-2 on the year.

Sophomore midfielder Ben Lloyd (Amesbury/Amesbury, Mass.) was credited with the Ithaca goal, which deflected into the net off of a St. Lawrence player. Ithaca senior goalkeeper Justin Parlapiano (Stafford/Stafford Springs, Conn.) made a career-high 14 saves in the game.

Ithaca had another quality scoring chance in the closing minutes of the second half, when a shot by freshman midfielder Eric Brown (Henry Hudson/Cortlandt Manor) hit the post with less than two minutes remaining.

St. Lawrence is ranked fifth in the Northeast Region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
