Collegeville, Pa. – The fourth-ranked wrestling team (11-0) maintained its unbeaten record with four lopsided wins at Saturday's North-South Duals, hosted by Ursinus. Ithaca wrestlers lost just five times in 38 bouts, while shutting out McDaniel (2-3) 44-0 and beating Messiah (5-4) 32-6, #17 Wesleyan (1-3) 37-4 and Central (4-6) 33-12.

Junior Blaine Woszczak (Wall/Manasquan, N.J.), the nation's top-ranked wrestler at 174 pounds, went 4-0 with a fall and three major decisions. Woszczak is now 20-2 on the season (with an 8-0 mark in dual meets) with three falls and a team-leading eight major decisions. His career record stands at 84-27.

Senior Jon Gregory (Phillipsburg/Phillipsburg, N.J.), ranked fifth nationally at 125 pounds, remained unbeaten on the season. He pinned two opponents and recorded a7-5 win over a Wesleyan opponent ranked eighth nationally. Gregory, who now has four pins among his 15 wins, is 10-0 in dual meets and 70-29 in his career.

Wrestling at 141 pounds, sophomore Jeremy Stierly (Owen J. Roberts/Pottstown, Pa.) also won all three of his bouts (including his sixth major decision). Stierly, who's ranked sixth nationally, is 16-2 on the season (7-1 in dual-meet competition) and 39-12 as a Bomber.

Senior Dave Sbriscia (Warren Hills/Stewartsville, N.J.) went 3-0 at 197 pounds, picking up a major decision and two decisions. He's 5-0 this season and 58-31 in his career.

Eight Bombers went 2-0 during the tournament. Senior Chad Winowich (Abington Heights/Clarks Summit, Pa.), ranked fourth at 133 pounds, improved to 16-3 overall and 4-0 in dual matches. He recorded his fourth pin of the season and raised his career mark to 83-35.

Wrestling at 157 pounds, senior Willie Horwath (Liberty/Bethlehem, Pa.) stretched his dual-match winning streak to 21 and raised his career record to 107-38. He's now tied with Matt Sorochinsky (1990-94) and Joel Lamson (1986-90) for seventh on Ithaca's all-time victory list and is 16-4 this winter.

Sophomore heavyweight Matt Mahon (Brighton/Rochester) pinned both his opponents to improve to 16-4 (8-0 in dual meets). Mahon's nine pins this season lead the team and he's now 35-12 with 18 career pins.

Sophomore Derek Brenon (Immaculate Heart Central/Watertown) pinned two opponents at 157 pounds, giving him four falls on the season. Brenon is 14-4 with a 5-1 record in dual-match competition.

Sophomore Seth Ecker (Pottstown/Pottstown, Pa.) raised his season record to 13-5 (7-0 in dual matches) and his career slate to 37-13 by winning twice at 133 pounds.

Freshman Evan Connors (Phillips Exeter Academy [N.H.]/Lowell/North Weymouth, Mass.) pinned one opponent at 149 pounds and won by major decision in his other bout. He's 13-6 overall, with a perfect 5-0 mark in dual matches. Connors has won four times by major decision and three times by fall.

Senior heavyweight Joe Goetz (New Hyde Park Memorial/New Hyde Park), who's seen limited time since joining the team after the Bombers' football season, picked up his first two wins of the season. He's now 48-31 in his career.

Wrestling at 165 pounds, senior John Dale (North Penn/Lansdale, Pa.) won twice by major decision. He's 11-7 this year and 45-34 in his career.

Picking up one win apiece during Saturday's competition were junior David Priest (Wyomissing/Douglassville, Pa.), who's ranked fourth at 174 pounds; junior Junior Amazan (Uniondale/Hempstead) at 141 pounds; sophomore Tom Heckman (Cedar Cliff/Mechanicsburg, Pa.) at 184 pounds; and freshman Josue Mendez (Brentwood/Brentwood) at 174 pounds.

Priest is now 12-3 this season and 65-21 overall. Amazan raised his season record to 8-5 with his 31st career victory. Heckman is 13-9 this winter and has 22 wins as a Bomber and Mendez is off to an 8-6 start.

Ithaca returns to action this weekend at Lycoming's Budd Whitehill National Duals. The 20-team, two-day competition, is one of Division III's top in-season team tournaments. The Bombers placed second last year.
