#22 Women's Soccer Team Tops Oneonta 3-1

Oneonta, N.Y. -- The women's soccer team (12-4.0), ranked 22nd nationally by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and 27th by D3soccer.com, beat host Oneonta (11-4-3) Tuesday. The Bombers defeated the Red Dragons -- who are ranked 29th by D3soccer.com -- for the second year in a row and took a 9-8-3 series lead. In last week's inaugural NCAA East Region rankings Oneonta was first and the Bombers were fifth.

Senior Winnie Adrien (Blairstown Academy/Selden) scored a pair of goals -- her third and fourth of the season -- and freshman Rachael Palladino (Lansing/Groton) added a pair of assists.

Adrien put the Bombers up with her first goal just 87 seconds into the match and tallied again 16 minutes later. Freshman Caroline Jastremski (Notre Dame Academy/Staten Island) assisted on Adrien's first goal, which came off a rebound. Adrien's second goal came after a loose ball scramble in front of the net.

Sophomore Megan Trager (Sharon/Sharon, Mass.) closed out the Bomber scoring by putting in a rebound of Palladino's shot midway through the first half for her second goal of the season.

Adrien raised her career total to 35 goals, moving into a second-place tie on Ithaca's all-time list. Palladino's two assists give her six on the season as well as 26 points; both totals are one short of Ithaca's school freshman records.

Junior Jessica Platt (Monument Mountain/New Marlborough, Mass.) made five saves in goal for the Bombers, who close out their regular season Saturday, hosting #28 Skidmore at 2:30 p.m.
