Cortland, N.Y. – Cortland finished first and second in the final event of Saturday's dual meet to earn 15 team points and edge the Ithaca women's swimming & diving team (3-1) 122-121 at Cortland. The second-place quartet from Cortland touched out Ithaca's relay by just .32 seconds to earn the winning points.
Sophomore
Sheila Rhoades (Dryden/Dryden) and senior
Lauren Botterbusch (Dallastown Area/York, Pa.) won two individual events each and were also part of the winning 200 medley relay team.
Rhoades won the 50 yard freestyle (25.06 seconds) and 100 free (54.43 seconds).
Botterbusch won the 200 individual medley in 2:16.98 and 100 breast in 1:09.37.
They were joined on the 200 medley relay by freshmen
Amanda Vitullo (Schalmont/Schenectady) and
Cali DeSanto (Mexico/Mexico).
Freshman
Missy Keesler (Union-Endicott/Endicott) won the 200 free (2:02.19) and 100 back (1:02.50), and freshman
Kelly Murphy (Blake/Silver Spring, Md.) won the 500 free in 5:22.47.
Junior diver
Naomi Mark (Dansville/Dansville) finished second on the 3-meter board with 182.92 points and third on the 1-meter board with 169.57 points.
The Bombers host Bloomsburg Saturday at 1 p.m.
