Biography
2011-12: A team captain as a senior, Vitullo earned all-state honors as part of Ithaca's 200- and 400-yard freestyle relay teams at the UNYSCSA / Empire 8 Championships. In individual events, Vitullo competed in backstroke and butterfly events.
2010-11: Vitullo's junior campaign saw her compete in freestyle, backstroke and butterfly events.
2009-10: Vitullo competed in backstroke, butterfly and sprint freestyle events as a sophomore. She placed seventh at the RIT Invitational in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:03.65, her best of the season, and was on a winning 200-yard medley relay team at the RIT meet that set a pool-record time of 1:49.62.
2008-09: Vitullo earned All-American honors as a freshman as part of the 200-yard medley relay team that finished ninth at the NCAA Division III Championships. That relay also finished first in the UNYSCSA and Empire 8 championship meet with a school-record time of 1:45.07, which also set state and conference records in that meet. Vitullo swam the leadoff, backstroke leg of that relay, and also finished sixth in the 100-yard backstroke at the UNYSCSA Championships, earning all-state distinction. She ranks fourth all-time at Ithaca in the 100 back with her season-best time of 59.01 seconds, which came at state meet.
High School: A 2008 graduate of Schalmont High School, Vitullo was coached by Jess Westervelt and Jerry Adams. She earned six letters, was a scholar-athlete four times and MVP of both the swimming & diving and track & field teams.
Personal: The daughter of Allison and Robert Vitullo, she is a student in the exploratory program. Her sister Danielle is a 2009 graduate of Ithaca.
