ITHACA, N.Y. - The #10 Ithaca women's soccer team (12-2-2) defeated Vassar (8-6-1) by a score of 1-0 to close out its regular season. The game marked the final regular-season home game for nine Bomber seniors.

Fittingly, two Bomber seniors combined for the game's only goal. Midfielder Chelsea Stouffer (Wheatland-Chili/Scottsville) scored her third goal of the season in the 59th minute to give the Bombers the lead. Fellow senior Nikki Rice (Sutton Memorial/Sutton, Mass.) earned the assist on the goal. It was her second assist of the year.

The Bombers outshot the Brewers 30-5. Junior midfielder Amy Scheffer (Schalmont/Schenectady) had 10.

Sophomore goalie Alyssa Sotomayor (East Brunswick/East Brunswick, N.J.) played all 90 minutes in goal and made one save in her seventh shutout of the year.

Ithaca will host the Empire 8 Conference championships next weekend as the first seed. They host fourth-seeded Stevens on Saturday at 11 a.m. Nazareth will play against the Rochester Institute of Technology in the other semifinal at 1:30 p.m.
