Men's Soccer Ties Nazareth

Jeff Geyer scored his team-leading fourth goal
ITHACA, N.Y. — The Ithaca men's soccer team (6-1-1, 1-0-1) tied its first game of the season 1-1 against Nazareth (3-6-2, 0-1-1) Saturday. The Bombers extended their unbeaten streak to four games.

Ithaca opened the scoring 12 minutes into the contest. Sophomore midfielder Jeff Geyer (Rham/Hebron, Conn.) took a shot near the net that deflected off the goalie's hands and into the top right corner of the net. Geyer now leads the Bombers with four goals and nine points.

Senior goalkeeper Andy Wilhelm (Centennial/Endicott City, Md.) made three saves, including one in the first overtime period. The Nazareth goal snapped Wilhelm's scoreless streak at 315:00. Ithaca outshot the Golden Flyers 15-9.

The Bombers continue Empire 8 play Sunday when they host Rochester Institute of Technology at 3 p.m.
