ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca men's soccer team (9-2-3, 4-0-2 Empire 8) won 2-1 over Stevens Institute of Technology (15-2-2, 4-1-1) in overtime Saturday. Ithaca is now the only unbeaten team in the Empire 8. The Bombers are the first team to beat Stevens in Empire 8 play, snapping the Ducks' 54-game unbeaten streak in conference play. The win clinches a home semifinal game in the Empire 8 Championship Tournament for Ithaca, who'll secure the tournament's top seed with a win or tie over Elmira.

John Tarson (Philips Academy/Acton, Mass.) scored his third goal of the season in the first half. Senior midfielder
Jason Kaufman (Wilbraham-Monson Academy/Leverett, Mass.) passed
Tarson the ball from the left side of the goal.
Kaufman now has two assists.
With 41 seconds left in the overtime period, senior forward
Kurt Odenbach (McQuaid Jesuit/Webster) scored the game-winner after the Stevens goalie could not collect the ball in front of the net following a long shot from
Kaufman.
Odenbach now leads the team with five goals. With 59 career points,
Odenbach moved into a tie for eighth in program history.
Senior goalkeeper
Andy Wilhelm (Centennial/Ellicott City, Md.) made four saves in the win.
The Bombers play Tuesday at Brockport at 3:30 p.m.
