Ithaca Falls to #1 Juniata in Bomber Volleyball Invitational Final

ITHACA, N.Y. – The volleyball team fell to top-ranked and defending national champion Juniata 3-0 (17-30, 15-30, 28-30) in the championship match of the 2007 Bomber Invitational. Senior outside hitter Amanda Hubbard (Horseheads/Horseheads) led Ithaca (8-1) with 10 kills and added seven digs.
 
Sophomore setter Corinna Doctor (Skaneateles/Skaneateles) recorded 29 assists and seven digs, while senior outside hitter Andria Mynders (Minisink Valley/Greenville) and sophomore middle hitter Jen Heberton (Darien/Darien, Conn.) put down eight kills each.
 
Hubbard and Mynders were named to the all-tournament team.
 
The Bombers return to action at the RIT Invitational Sept. 14-15. Ithaca will open the tournament Friday against Rochester at 6 p.m. and Brockport at 8 p.m.
