Ithaca, N.Y. - The women's tennis team improved to 5-0 on the season after a 9-0 victory over Cortland (1-4). The Bombers had five players record a pair of wins in the victory.
Senior
Rachel Gunderson (Maple Grove/Bemus Point) notched a 6-0, 6-0 win at second singles. Juniors
Alyssa Jaffe (Pascack Hills/Montvale, N.J.) and
Natalie Jenereski (Knoch/Butler, Pa.) each tallied 6-0, 6-0 wins at third and sixth singles, respectively.
Gunderson and
Jenereski paired to record an 8-1 victory at third doubles.
Sophomore
Devra Reiman (Columbia/Maplewood, N.J.) teamed with
Jaffe for an 8-2 victory at first doubles.
Reiman posted a 6-0, 6-1 win at fourth singles. Freshmen
Melanie Cohen (Hatboro-Horsham/Ambler, Pa.) and
#Melissa Nunez#
(Morris Hills/Rockaway, N.J.) teamed at second doubles to post an 8-1 win.
Cohen was also a 6-2, 6-1 winner at first singles. Sophomore
Sarah Hollis (Greens Farms Academy/Fairfield, Conn.) tallied a 6-0, 6-1 win at fifth singles.
The Bombers return to action this weekend at the ITA William Smith Championships.
