Volleyball Falls to Cortland at RIT Invitational

Amanda Hubbard had three double-doubles at the RIT Invitational.

Rochester, N.Y. -- The Volleyball team fell to Cortland, 3-1 (30-23, 21-30, 30-32, 23-30), in the fifth place match at the RIT Invitational. Ithaca finished sixth in the 12-team tournament with a 2-2 record. Senior outside hitter Amanda Hubbard (Horseheads/Horseheads) was named to the all-tournament team.

Hubbard posted her third double-double of the tournament against the Red Dragons with 20 kills and 10 digs. Sophomore middle hitter Jen Heberton (Darien/Darien, Conn.) tallied 16 kills, tying her career-high, and registered a career best seven blocks (four solo, three assisted). Junior defensive specialist Brianna D'Errico (Byron-Bergen/Byron) had a season-high 15 digs and sophomore setter Corinna Doctor (Skaneateles/Skaneateles) had 46 assists and eight digs.

The Bombers return to action Tuesday when they host Geneseo at 7 p.m.
