Oswego, N.Y. -- The 28th-ranked wrestling team opened the dual match season with a 26-15 win over Oswego Wednesday evening. The Bombers won five straight bouts in the middle weights to record its first win of the season.
Senior
Nick Calandrino (Emerson/Emerson, N.J.), ranked fifth nationally, pinned Ron Williams, for his 42nd career fall.
Calandrino is four pins away from breaking Ithaca’s career pin record.
Freshman
Chad Winowich (Abington Heights/Clarks Summit, Pa.) tallied his first collegiate dual win with a 10-2 major decision. Classmate
John Dale (North Penn/Lansdale, Pa.) also picked up a 12-3 major decision at the 165-pound weight class.
Oswego heavyweight Jake Taylor pinned
Mirza Kozarcanin (Burgarden/Gothenburg, Sweden) in 1:40 to close the meet, improving Taylor to 15-1 on the season with 15 pins.
Ithaca travels to #15 Lycoming Friday for a 7 p.m. match.
