Biography

2008-09: Winowich earned all-America honors in his first trip to the NCAA Championships after taking home the 133-pound title at the ECWC meet. He won 22 matches (including four by pin and a team-best seven by major decision). Winowich earned all-state honors with a fourth-place finish at the New York State Championships and also placed at the Sunshine Open (third) and Ithaca Invitational (sixth). He was named to the NWCA Scholar All-American Team.

2007-08: Winowich placed second at the ECWC Championships and was the second alternate selection for the NCAA meet. He placed fifth at both the season-opening Ithaca Invitational and the New York State tournament and was the runner-up at the Williamstown Invitational.

2006-07: Winowich was one of six Bomber freshmen to win at least 15 matches and his seven pins ranked third on the team. He opened his career with a sixth-place showing at the Ithaca Invitational. Winowich went 6-2 in dual meets, including a 3-1 mark at the Budd Whitehill National Duals where he recorded a pin and a major decision.

High School: A 2006 graduate of Abington Heights. Winowich was coached by Brian Davis. He was a two-time district champion and placed fifth at the Disney national duals.

Personal: A business administration major, he is the son of Greg and Terri Winowich.
