#7 Bombers Crown Three champions at Ithaca Invitational

Ithaca, N.Y. -- The seventh-ranked Bombers opened up the 2005-06 season by hosting the 27th annual Ithaca College Wrestling Invitational. Ithaca placed sixth in the team standings and three Bombers won individual titles: seniors Matthias Keib (G. Ray Bodley/Fulton), ranked fifth nationally at 174 pounds; senior Robert Stubbs (MacArthur/Levittown), ranked eighth nationally at 184; and junior Nick Calandrino (Emerson/Emerson, N.J.) at 197 pounds.

The Bombers placed sixth in the team standings.

Senior Jad Duca (Monmouth Junction/Brunswick, N.J.), ranked fifth nationally at 157 pounds, placed fourth.

Ithaca's three champions marked the most for the program since three Bombers won titles at the 1992 event. A school-record five Ithaca wrestlers won tournament crowns at the first two Ithaca Invitationals (1982 and 1983).
