Auburn, N.Y. -- Junior first baseman PJ Canestrari (Randolph/Ironia, N.J.) hit a two-run single to highlight a six-run ninth inning as the Bombers broke open a one-run game to eliminate Skidmore 9-2 and advance to the championship round. Canestrari finished with three RBI’s and stole a base. Senior second baseman Marty O’Boyle (Verona/Verona, N.J.) drove in two runs, hitting a double and a home run. Sophomore outfielder Eric Maya (Rome Free Academy/Rome) added two hits and Smith scored two runs. Sophomore Matt Lavoie (Moses Brown/Providence, R.I.) threw his first career complete game, allowing seven hits to earn the win.
