Ithaca, N.Y. -- Ithaca’s six-game winning streak ended with a doubleheader loss to #25 Rensselaer (15-8 and 7-0). Junior outfielder Kyle Rutherford (New Milford/New Milford, Conn.) led the Bombers in game one, going three-for-four with two RBI’s. Sophomore outfielder Eric Maya (Rome Free Academy/Rome) added two hits. Freshman Evan Hughes (Thomas R. Proctor/Utica) made his first collegiate pitching appearance and threw two innings of one-hit relief. In the nightcap, senior catcher Brett Gryska (Horseheads/Elmira Heights) collected three of the Bombers’ five hits.
