The 18th-ranked Ithaca Bombers withstood three Hobart possessions in Ithaca territory in the fourth quarter, holding on for a 14-7 win over the visiting Hobart Statesmen. Hobart turned the ball over on downs twice in the fourth quarter; the Statesmen's quarterback was sacked on a fourth-and-two play from the Bomber nine by Ithaca junior defensive tackle Jeff Kasarjian (Cazenovia/Cazenovia) with 8:59 left and on Hobart's next possession, the Statesmen completed a short pass to the Ithaca 43 that resulted in a one-yard loss when the receiver was tackled by junior cornerback Matt Tosh (Abington Heights/Clarks Summit, Pa.), senior linebacker Brett Campbell (Oswego/Oswego) and senior strong safety Jon Edgcomb (Honeoye Falls-Lima/Honeoye Falls) with 3:38 remaining. On their final possession the Statesmen drove to the Ithaca 44; on the game's final play, Edgcomb knocked down a pass at the goal line. The win was the Bombers' 12th straight at home and dropped Hobart's record to 0-13 in games played at Ithaca. Ithaca scored the winning touchdown with 2:27 left in the third quarter on a 22-yard touchdown pass from sophomore quarterback Josh Felicetti (Central Bucks East/Doylestown, Pa.) to junior wide receiver Jeff Welch (Ithaca/Ithaca). Felicetti also threw a seven-yard touchdown pass to junior fullback Jamie Free (The Gunnery School/Brookfield, Conn.) in the second quarter. Felicetti threw for 249 yards, completing 18 of 29 passes against a Hobart defense that entered the game ranked 12th nationally against the pass. The Bomber defense held the Statesmen scoreless; their touchdown came on a blocked punt following Ithaca's opening drive. Sophomore linebacker Dustin Ross (Salamanca/Salamanca) and senior middle linebacker Robert Truman (Allegany-Limestone/Allegany) led Ithaca with respective totals of 12 and 11 tackles. Truman had one of Ithaca's five sacks. Kasarjian finished with a career-best three tackles for loss, including his fourth-quarter sack. He recovered a Hobart fumble to set up the winning touchdown. Tosh recorded eight tackles and broke up a pair of passes.
