Sawyer Hitchcock (Hamilton Southeastern/Fishers, Ind.) of the Ithaca College men's cross country team has been named the College's Male Athlete of the Week for action taking place during the week ending November 1, 2015.
Hitchcock, who was also named the Empire 8's Runner of the Week, repeated as the Empire 8's individual champion at last weekend's conference meet, and led Ithaca to a first place finish in a time of 25:08.6 on the 8K course at Houghton. He bested his time by nearly a minute from a year ago (26:00.1) and was 21 seconds faster than the runner-up.
Hitchcock will return to action on Saturday, November 14 at the NCAA Atlantic Region Championship in Mt. Morris, N.Y.
