ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Ithaca College men's swimming and diving team ranks second in the overall points' category after three days of competition at the Upper New York State Collegiate Swimming Association Championships and Empire 8 Championships meets. The Bombers have accumulated 1,025.50 points in three-of-four competition days, and trail Stevens Institute of Technology's total of 1,071 points.
The men opened the day with strong performances from junior
Lucas Zelehowsky and senior
Taylor Van Cott, as both met the NCAA B qualifying standard in the 200-yard butterfly. L. Zelehowsky's time of 1:50.57 earned him a third place finish, and marked a new program record. Van Cott took sixth overall with a time of 1:53.70, earning him the second fastest time in school history.
Senior
Connor White finished second in the 100-yard backstroke, earning all-state and all-conference honors with a time of 50.52. White's time also marked a new program record and earned him a NCAA B cut.Â
Junior
Peter Knight and sophomore
James Bowe both finished in the top six of the A-Final in the 100-yard breaststroke. Knight (58.07) earned all state honors with a fourth place finish while Bowe took sixth with a time of 58.55.Â
Junior
Matt Morrison dominated in the 1-meter dive, taking first with a point total of 582.30. Morrison's performance set the meet record and earned him a sweep of both men's diving events.
In the men's final event of the day, Ithaca earned a second place finish in the 800-yard freestyle relay. The team of

Adam Zelehowsky and
Chris Cadwell finished in a time of 6:43.90. The finish met NCAA B qualifying standards and marked another new Bomber record.
