Ithaca College Athletics

2013-14: Van Cott was a two-time conference champion after helping the 200-yard medley relay and 400-yard medley relay finish first among conference opponents at the Empire 8 / UNYSCSA Championships. The finish also gave Van Cott a state title and state runner up honors. He would earn five all-state selections in total after finishing sixth in the 200-yard individual medley, fifth in the 100-yard butterfly and sixth in the 200-yard butterfly. Van Cott competed at the NCAA Championships and placed 17th in the 200-yard medley relay, 17th in the 400-yard medley relay and 32nd in the 200-yard butterfly.

2012-13: Van Cott earned all-state honors after finishing second in the 400-yard medley relay at the UNYSCSA Championships. His team also finished second in the 200-yard medley relay, earning a spot on the All-Empire 8 Second Team. Van Cott was the Empire 8 runner up in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing third overall. He finished eighth overall in the 200-yard individual medley and was named the  Empire 8 Athlete of the Week on Oct. 29, 2012. 

2011-12: Van Cott repeated as Empire 8 champion in the 200-yard butterfly and totaled four all-state honors and two Empire 8 honors during the season-ending meet. He improved his time in the 100 fly to 51.01 seconds to maintain the Ithaca school record in that event.

2010-11: Van Cott came to the Ithaca program as a freshman and moved right to the top of the Ithaca record boards in the butterfly events. He won the state and conference title in the 100 fly and the Empire 8 title in the 200 fly. He also earned all-state and Empire 8 honors on two relays. Van Cott's time of 1:54.08 in the 200-yard butterfly is a school record.

High School: A 2010 graduate of Bethlehem Central, Van Cott swam four years for coach John Nadrews and Dave Burns. He earned second-team all-state honors as a senior.

Personal: A health education major, Taylor is the son of Molly Van Cott. His uncle, John Van Cott, attended Ithaca and was a member of the men's swimming & diving team and ranks in the top-10 all-time in the 100-yard and 200-yard freestyle.
