ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's swimming and diving team defeated Union Saturday afternoon by a score of 194-106 at the A&E Center Aquatics Pavilion. The Bombers finished first in 12-of-16 events.
In the men's first event of the afternoon, the team of
Connor White,
Lucas Zelehowsky,
Taylor Van Cott and
Zack Kundel took first with a time of 1:34.04 in the 200-yard medley relay.
Matt Morrison once again set Ithaca diving records in the meet, setting program marks with scores of 371.25 in the 3-meter and 369.45 in the 1-meter. Morrison 's scores broke his program and pool records that were set just last week.
L. Zelehowsky also experienced individual success, finishing first in the 200-yard individual medley (2:02.49) and the 200-yard butterfly (1:53.29). Kundel also had a great solo performance in the meet, taking first with a time of 21.15 in the 50-yard freestyle. Not to be outdone, Van Cott earned another individual first place finish for the Bombers, taking the top spot in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:58.88.
Adam Zelehowsky paced the field of eight in the 200-yard freestyle, finishing first with a time of 1:43.42.
Peter Knight earned two wins in the meet, finishing first with a time of 1:00.67 in the 100-yard breaststroke before taking the top spot in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 47.08.
Clement Towner rounded out the top individual finishes for Ithaca, taking first with a time of 4:50.25 in the 500-yard freestyle.
The Bombers closed the meet with a win in the 400-yard freestyle relay, as the team of Knight,
Chris Cadwell,
Addison Hebert and Kundel finished first in a time of 3:12.20.
Ithaca is back in action on Feb. 15, as the Bombers host the Ithaca Invitational.
