The Lasers jumped out to a 7-3 lead in the first before the Bombers crept within one, 12-11, and went on to knot the set at 16. Three additional ties followed. Ithaca snapped a 24-24 deadlock on Duryea's serve forcing Lasell to commit a pair of errors as Ithaca took the first, 26-24. Lasell evened the series at 1-1, taking the second 25-22. The game was tied 13 times, but the Lasers shattered a 22-all stalemate with the final three points, polishing off the set with an ace. Ithaca claimed the third and fourth sets, 25-14. The Bombers posted an 11-5 gap in the third, though the Lasers crept within 15-12. Ithaca owned a 10-2 run down the stretch to secure a 2-1 edge. The fourth was close early, with the Bombers holding a 9-8 lead, before piecing together 11 unanswered en route to a double-digit win, 25-14.

In the night's second match, Duryea again led the Bombers hitting .469 with 16 kills and just one error on 32 swings. Schmidt added 15 and junior Rylie Bean 12. Brown posted 25 assists and Garone 22. Idziur added a match-best five aces. Duryea dug 19 balls and Gawinski Stern 16.

Baruch controlled the match early, securing an 11-5 gap. Ithaca battled to tie the set at 13 and used a 12-5 run to close the frame, 25-18. The second belonged to the Bearcats. They jumped out to a 10-4 advantage and never looked back. Ithaca snuck within 18-17 with five consecutive and were able to bring the game to a 20-20 standstill, but Baruch outlasted Ithaca for a 25-22 second-set win. Much like the day's first match, Ithaca dictated action in the third and fourth. The Bombers opened the third on an 11-3 run and gained a double-digit lead, 23-13, with a Garone ace on their way to a 25-16 final. After opening the final stint 5-1, Ithaca used a 12-3 streak in the fourth for a 21-9 advantage. The Bearcats crept within 22-14, though a Baruch error and kills by Bean and Duryea off Garone sets sealed the match in four.

The Bombers will play the host Red Dragons at 11 a.m. and Plattsburgh at 1 p.m. Saturday with the tournament crown at stake.
