Ithaca Men's Cross Country Team Places Fourth at State Meet

CLINTON, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's cross country team recorded a fourth-place finish out of 12 teams Saturday at the New York State Collegiate Track Conference Cross Country Championship at the Hamilton College Golf Course. Ithaca, who tallied 89 points, has placed in the top five each of the last six years. 

Rookie Sean Phillips again paced the Bombers on the eight-kilometer course. He finished 10th out of 127 runners with a 27:02.00 finish. Junior Dennis Ryan followed in 11th clocking a 27:06.60 finish.

Sophomores Sawyer Hitchcock and Stephen Gomez ran consecutively, placing 19th and 20th with times of 27:30.70 and 27:32.00.

Senior Samuel Horwath crossed the finish line 30th with a time of 27:48.40. Sophomore Larkin Bohanan and rookie Shane Connor rounded out the Bombers' top seven. They finished in 28:16.50 and 28:17.90, respectively.

The Bombers return to action Saturday, Nov. 2 looking to defend their Empire 8 title at the conference championships in Saratoga Springs.
