Ithaca Men's Cross Country Team Runs Fourth at Hamilton

CLINTON, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's cross country team ran to a fourth-place finish out of 13 teams Saturday at the Hamilton Invitational hosted at the Hamilton College Golf Course.

Freshman Sean Phillips paced the Bombers for the second consecutive week on the eight-kilometer course. He clocked a 26:53.30 finish to place third overall in a field of 148 runners. Captains Dennis Ryan and Samuel Horwath followed in 15th and 17th with times of 27:33.10 and 27:40.10.

Three of the next four finishes for the Bombers were freshmen. Jesse Capellaro placed 32nd in 28:27.60. Sophomore Stephen Gomez crossed the finish line 35th in 28:34.50, Shane Connor was 38th in 28:38.50 and Paul Lapre placed 41st in 28:45.20.

The Bombers rest from competition for a week before traveling across town to Cornell's Reif Invitational on Friday, Oct. 25 and returning to Hamilton for the NYSCTC Championship on Saturday, Oct. 26.
