Biography

2009-10: Mendez won 13 matches as a Bomber rookie. He took third at York’s Spartan Classic, helping the Bombers claim the team title, and placed third at the New York State B Championships. Mendez was Ithaca’s entrant at 184 pounds at the ECWC Championships.

High School: A 2009 graduate of Brentwood High School, Mendez was coached by K.C. Beach, a 2006 Ithaca graduate and all-American Bomber wrestler. He won two Section XI titles and was a two-time place-winner at the New York State Championships.

Personal: A biology major, he is the son of Raul and Maria Mendez.
