Biography

2008-09: After a season with the Bomber football team, Goetz won 17 matches (including seven pins) and placed third at the ECWC Championships. He earned all-state honors at the New York State Championships, where his third-place finish was the team’s best and the highest by a Bomber heavyweight in 17 years. Goetz was the runner-up at the Sunshine Classic.

2007-08: Goetz earned his first letter after posting a third-place finish at the ECWC meet. He took second at the Jefferson Community College Open and third at the Williamstown Invitational. His five pins were tied for fourth on the team.

2006-07: Goetz joined the team following the football season and was Ithaca’s top heavyweight, winning three of his victories by fall. In his first collegiate bout, he recorded an overtime takedown to win by decision and give the Bombers a victory over #15 Lycoming. That performance earned him ECWC Rookie of the Week honors. Goetz picked up a win at the state championships and also wrestled at the conference meet.

High School: A 2006 graduate of New Hyde Park Memorial High School, Goetz was coached by Sean Bradley. Goetz was the state wrestling runner-up in the heavyweight division as a senior.

Personal: A health education major, he is the son of Peter and Mary Ann Goetz. He is an all-conference and all-region defensive tackle for the Bomber football team.
