GIacolone missed the middle portion of the season with an injury, but returned to action and claimed an NCAA berth at the regionals. 2012-13: Giacolone earned a trip to the NCAA Division III Championships by virtue of a third-place finish at the NCAA Northeast Regional. He also placed third at the Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference championships. Giacolone was 13-8 overall and 6-4 in dual matches.

2012-13 Statistics
2011-12: Giacolone won a career-best 14 matches, including three by major decision. He opened the season by claiming his first career tournament title, taking the 125-pound crown at the Ithaca Invitational. Giacolone edged the top seed 2-1 in overtime in the championship bout. He placed fourth at York’s New Standard Corporation Invitational, then moved up to 133 pounds for the state championships. Giacolone earned all-state honors at the all-division event, placing sixth.

2011-12 Statistics
2010-11: Giacolone won 11 bouts in his rookie season and his two pins led the Bomber freshmen. He won his collegiate debut with a shutout at Lycoming then took second at the Ithaca Invitational (pinning his opening-round opponent), losing to teammate Max Cohen in the title bout. Giacolone recorded an overtime fall in Ithaca’s 41-3 win at #23 Delaware Valley.

High School: A 2010 graduate of Cato-Meridian High School, Giacolone was coached by Dan Butler, a 1999 Ithaca graduate and NCAA qualifier as a Bomber wrestler. Giacolone earned five varsity letters and is Cato-Meridian’s winningest career wrestler.
Personal: A recreation management major, he is the son of Rocco and Cari Giacalone. His brother Joshua is also a member of the Bomber wrestling team.
