2019-20: Whitney capped his Ithaca career with a 17-4 record in his final season in 2019-20...He registered a 10-1 record in tournament-format and a 7-3 record in dual competition on the year...Whitney posted 11 bonus-point wins with two major decisions, one technical fall, and eight falls...He marked three place-finishes on the year at the: New York State Championships, New Standard Corporation Invitational, and NCAA Mideast Regional Championships...He was an NWCA Scholar All-American and ECWC All-Academic Team achiever. | 2019-20 Stats

2017-18: Whitney was a breakout performer for the Bombers at 157-pounds...He posted a 22-7 overall record, which includes an 11-1 mark in dual competition...Marked place-finishes at the New Standard Spartan Invite as well as an ECWC Championship at 157-pounds...He came up just short of earning a berth to the NCAA Nationals, sustaining an injury late in his tournament run at the NCAA Mideast Regionals...Posted 14 bonus-point wins, scoring six major decisions, two technical falls, and six falls. | 2017-18 Stats

2016-2017: Whitney did not appear in any matches for the Bombers during the 2016-2017 season.

2015-2016: Whitney was apart of the SUNY Cortland wrestling team. 

High School: Whitney was a four-year letter-winner at Fulton and Mexico during his prep career. He helped Mexico to 2015 NYSPHSAA Section 3 Division Two Team Championship and a NYSPHSAA Division Two State Championship. Whitney was a 2014 NYSPHSAA Section 3 Division Two 132-Pound Champion as a junior and was a 2015 NYSPHSAA Section 3 Division Two 145-Pound Champion as a senior. He went on to finish fifth in his weight class at the State Tournament later that season. Whitney wrestled for SUNY Cortland during his freshman season.

Personal: Austin is the son of Lori Sage, step-son of Jeff Thompson, and the grandson of Dottie Sage.
