Ithaca College Athletics

2009-10: An All-Empire 8, All-NYSCTC and All-ECAC athlete during the indoor season of her junior year, Leugers broke her own indoor school record in the mile run with an NCAA provisional qualifying performance at the ECAC Championships on March 6. Leugers ran 5:01.42 in the event to place third. She was a member of the NYSCTC winning distance medley relay team that provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships with a season-best time of 12:10.39. She also competed in the 3,000- and 5,000-meter runs during the season and recorded times of 10:25.79 and 17:54.50, respectively. During the outdoor season, Leugers competed at the NCAA Championships in the 10,000 run where she placed 13th. A state and conference champion in the 1,500 run, Leugers also won the NYSCTC 5K. She was named Empire 8 Athlete of the Week on March 29 and tallied USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors. During the outdoor season she set season-best times of 4:41.35 in the 1,500, 17:42.43 in the 5,000 and 36:14.87 in the 10K.

2008-09: Leugers broke the Ithaca record in the mile run at the indoor ECAC Championships with a time of 5:01.45. She placed second in the event. Her time qualified her for the NCAA Championships, where she ran 5:02.85 to place 13th in the nation. Leugers was NYSCTC and Empire 8 champion in the mile. She also earned all-state honors as a member of the champion distance medley relay team and by placing fourth in the 800-meter run. Leugers was Empire 8 runner-up in the 800.

2007-08: Leugers attended Providence College.

High School: Leugers is a 2007 graduate of Rice Memorial High School, where she was coached by Alex Alorami and Mark McKenna. She earned six total varsity letters in track & field, and served as a team captain.

Personal: An exercise science major, she is the daughter of Michael and Maggie Leugers.
