Biography
2009-10: Heberton did not compete due to injury.
2008-09: Heberton added two All-American honors to her impressive collegiate career in the 200- and 400-yard medley relays at the NCAA Championships. She also earned UNYSCSA and Empire 8 totals in those events as both relays swam school-record times. Individually, Heberton was fourth in the state in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 57.43 seconds, which is also an Ithaca record.
2007-08: Heberton was a four-time all-American and won five state and Empire 8 championships. She swam on the 200-yard medley relay team that finished eighth at the national meet in a time of 1:48.85. Heberton also earned all-America honors with the 200- and 400-yard freestyle relay teams and 400-yard medley relay team, all of which finished 15th at NCAAs. Individually, Heberton won the NYSWCAA and Empire 8 title in the 50-yard freestyle (24.43) in Ithaca's third-fastest time ever. She set a school record in the 100-yard butterfly at the state and conference meet, placing second in 58.55. Heberton placed fifth in the 100-yard freestyle to earn all-NYSWCAA honors. She was a two-time Empire 8 Athlete of the Week.
2006-07: Heberton ranked third on the team in scoring as a freshman and was a member of the school, conference and conference championship record setting 200-yard medley relay team. She won state and conference titles in the 50-yard freestyle and as a member of the 200- and 400- yard freestyle and 200- and 400-yeard medley relay teams. Each of the relay teams recorded NCAA B qualifying times. She was the conference runner-up in the 100-yard backstroke. Heberton’s times in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly rank on the top-10 times list at Ithaca, as do her times as a member of the 200- and 400-yard freestyle and medley relay teams. She was named to the Empire 8 President’s List after the spring semester and received honorable mention to the NSCAA all-academic team.
High School: A 2006 graduate of Darien High School, Heberton was coached by Jason Paige as a member if the swimming & diving team. She was also a member of the volleyball team, earning first-team all-conference and first-team all-state honors. Heberton was honored her senior year as the state MVP and was named the 2005 Volleyball Player of the Year by the Hartford Courant.
Personal: A clinical health studies/physical therapy major, she is the daughter of Pam and Dick Heberton. She has also been a member of the volleyball team at Ithaca, earning Empire 8 all-star honors as a junior.
