Ithaca College Athletics

2013-14: Markus was named conference and state champion after earning a first place finish in 1-meter diving at the Empire 8 / UNYSCSA Championships. She also earned all-state recognition on 3-meter diving after finishing third overall. Markus earned a trip to the NCAA Championships and placed 19th in 1-meter and 23rd in 3-meter. She was also the recipient of the Barbara Radef Award.  

2012-13: Markus earned all-state honors with a runner-up finish in the 1-meter dive at the UNYSCSA Championships, also earning All-Empire 8 Second Team honors. She earned all-state honors again with a fourth place finish in the 3-meter dive. 

2009-10: Markus earned all-state recognition in diving by placing sixth on the 1-meter board with a score of 358.05 points in the event finals.

High School: A 2009 graduate of Saratoga Springs High School, Markus lettered four years as a member of the diving team for coach Ellie Raymond. She finished fifth in the sectional meet as a senior and was a state qualifier. She also lettered three years in gymnastics for coach Deborah Smarro and won two sectional championships in all-around and was a part of three team sectional championships and three state meet qualifying teams.

Personal: A physical therapy major, Heather is the daughter of Michael and Regina Markus.
