Dr. Rachel Madsen is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Sport Management department at Ithaca College. She has been teaching Sport Management for 15 years, and previously spent 12 years as a college basketball coach and athletic administrator. She is a 1992 graduate of Castleton University (VT) where she was a two-sport athlete competing in basketball and softball. Madsen earned a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from the University of Southern California and a PhD in Sport Management from the University of Connecticut.

Dr. Madsen is passionate about increasing the number of women working in sport-related fields and the overall professional development of college students. She currently competes in several softball leagues and has just learned to play ice hockey.
