Biography

2004: Sweeney was a first-team Empire 8 all-star and a third-team pick to the NSCAA’s all-region team. A NYSWCAA all-star as well, she picked up her first career points with a pair of assists in the win over Clarkson. Sweeney helped the Bombers record 12 shutouts, matching the team’s highest total since the 1998 team that reached the NCAA semifinals. She converted a penalty kick to help Ithaca eliminated Nazareth in the Empire 8 Championship Tournament semifinals.

2003: Sweeney started every game for the second season in a row and received honorable mention to the Empire 8 all-star team. She helped anchor a defense that led the Empire 8 and recorded 15 shutouts in 21 games.

2002: Sweeney was the only Bomber freshman to start all 21 games. Her play bolstered a defense that ranked among the national leaders in scoring defense and shutouts.

High School: At Bishop Fenwick High School, Sweeney was coached by Jose Isidro.

Personal: An exercise science major, she is the daughter of Edward and Michelle Sweeney. Her mother is a 1977 Ithaca graduate.
