Ithaca College Athletics

2007: Howell started every game for the third year in a row and received honorable mention to the Empire 8 All-Star Team. She was the team’s third-leading scorer and ranked second in goals after setting career highs in points, goals and assists. Howell led the team with seven free-position goals. She posted career-best totals of six goals, three assists and nine points (the most by a Bomber since 2004) in the Alfred win and turned in four-goal performances against Sweet Briar and #16 William Smith. Howell opened the season with a five-point outing against Wells and she scored two goals in Ithaca’s win over #6 Cortland.

 

2006: A starter in every game, Howell was Ithaca’s second-leading scorer (25 points) and also ranked second on the team in goals, assists and draw controls. She matched her career-high with four points against Elmira and added three goals in wins over RIT and Hartwick. Howell recorded season-best totals of five ground balls (against Hartwick) and three caused turnovers (against Utica).

 

2005: Howell was named the Empire 8 Rookie of the Year and earned second-team all-conference honors. She led Ithaca’s freshmen in points (28), goals (26), ground balls (39) and draw controls (14). Her 10 free-position goals set a school record and she was the Bombers’ third-leading scorer. She scored a goal in 15 of Ithaca’s 16 games with a season-best three in wins over Utica, Hartwick and St. John Fisher. Howell collected a career-best four points in the Hartwick win; she added a personal-high six ground balls against Utica.

 

High School: A 2004 graduate of Newark High School, Howell was coached by Jane Vantlee. She was a three-time league all-star and earned team MVP honors as a senior.

 

Personal: A psychology major, she is the daughter of Kevin and Lynne Howell. Her sister Brenna is a member of the lacrosse team at the University at Buffalo.
