2019-2020
Ryan competed in her first season on the Ithaca Sculling team, earning a fifth-place finish at Green Mountain Head Regatta in Putney, VT (9/30) and fourth-place finish in the Collegiate single at Head of the Fish in Saratoga Springs, NY (10/26). Ryan also raced in the Women’s Collegiate Eight at Head of the Charles Regatta, finishing in fifth place. The spring season was cut short after a week of rowing in Gainesville, GA that concluded with a scrimmage against Penn State and Catholic University. Ryan rowed five seat in the First Varsity Eight, contributing to a first-place finish.
2018- 2019
Ryan competed in the Women’s First and Second Varsity Eight boats during the spring season. Early in the season, she was part of a boat that earned the Liberty League Boat of the Week Honor (First Varsity Eight) (3/31). She contributed to a first-place finish in the Women’s Varsity Eight Petite Final at Knecht Cup in Cherry Hill, NJ (4/14), earning the honor of Liberty League Boat of the Week (4/14). She rowed in the Second Varsity Eight at the Liberty League Championship in Saratoga Springs, NY (5/3), earning a first-place finish and Team Championship title. At the New York State Championship in Saratoga Springs, NY (5/4), her boat earned a second-place finish in the Second Varsity Eight and contributed to the team winning the Team Points Trophy. Ryan also contributed to a first-place finish in the Petite Final at the NIRC Regatta in Worcester, MA (5/12). Her boat earned a fifth-place finish in the First Varsity Eight Grand Final and contributed to a fifth-place team finish at the NCAA Championship in Indianapolis, IN (6/1). Ryan was later honored as a member of the All-Liberty League Women’s Crew Team. The spring season was cut short after a week of rowing in Gainesville, GA that concluded with a scrimmage against Penn State and Catholic University. Ryan rowed five seat in the First Varsity Eight, contributing to a first-place finish.
2017-18
Ryan was a key rower in the Bombers' Varsity Eight as a sophomore, helping the team to an undefeated regular season and undefeated at home...She was part of a boat that was named Liberty League Boat of the Week three separate times during the year and won Liberty League Crew of the Year....Part of Varsity Eight group that won both heats in five-team event hosted by Worcester Polytechnic Institute (4/21)...Part of Varsity Eight group that placed first in its races at the Ithaca College 50-Year Celebration on the Cayuga Lake Inlet (4/28)...Helped the Bombers to First-Place finishes at both the 2018 Liberty League Championships (5/4) and New York State Championships (5/5)... and rowed to a Second-Place finish at the NIRC Women's Championships (5/11)... To cap off the season, the Women’s Varsity Eight boat was Second-Place at the 2018 NCAA Championship Grand Final, which contributed to an overall Fourth-Place finish as a team at the 2018 NCAA Championships in Sarasota, Fla. (5/26 (5/26).
2016-17
Ryan rowed in the Women’s Second Varsity Eight during her Bomber debut. During her freshman campaign, the Women’s Second Varsity Eight won the New York State Championships with a time of 8:10.50, which allowed the team to win the Women’s Points Trophy (5/6)... Her performance in the Women’s Second Varsity Eight Grand FInal contributed to the team wining the NIRC Women's Points Trophy at the NIRC Championship (5/12)... She came in Forth-Place in the Women’s Second Varsity Eight, which directed the Bombers to a Fourth-Place finish at the 2017 NCAA Championship on on Mercer Lake in West Windsor, N.J. (5/27)...
High School
Ryan graduated from Barrington High school where she earned four varsity letters, and two State Championships during her junior and senior season while under Coach Sandy Gorham for the Swim team. She served as Captain of her team during her senior year. Ryan also competed for East Bay Rowing during her junior and senior year in the fall and spring seasons under Coach Deb Sullivan where she developed her love and passion for rowing. She served as a captain of her team during her senior season.
Personal
Libby Ryan is a Clinical Health Studies major in the Physical Therapy program and the daughter of Nancy and Kevin Ryan.
