Gregg Seiz

Gregg Seiz ’23 joined the Ithaca College women’s rowing coaching staff prior to the 2024-25 season after 17 years of coaching youth rowing at clubs including Narragansett Boat Club, Passaic River Rowing Association, and Nereid Boat Club.

In his first season with the program, Seiz helped guide the Bombers to their seventh consecutive Liberty League women’s rowing title, highlighted by a victory in the Varsity Eight (V8+) race at the 2025 championship. He was also part of the Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year. Ithaca claimed wins in both the Varsity Eight (7:28.011) and Varsity Four (9:21.015), while placing second in the Second Varsity Eight (7:56.870) and Novice Four (9:38.282). With the conference’s automatic qualifier, the Bombers advanced to the NCAA Division III Championships, where they placed fifth in the V8+ Grand Final, finishing in 6:44.628—just 6.942 seconds behind the winning boat.

He has also worked with national outreach program STEM to Stern and in 2024 oversaw the Narragansett Boat Club STEM to Stern program that brought the most STS athletes to nationals out of all competing teams. His high school crews have had strong showings at nationals and many of his athletes have gone on to row at a high level in college.

Seiz graduated from Ithaca College in 2023 with his B.S. in exercise science. He spent his entire rowing career at Ithaca in the first varsity 8+, served as co-captain and was a 2023 Liberty League First Team selection.
