Biography
2009-10: During the indoor season of his sophomore year, Moloney twice completed pentathlons and earned himself All-NYSCTC accolades having tallied a season-best mark of 2,974 points at the meet. He competed in 11 events during the indoor season including five individual track events, two relays, three field events and the pentathlon. Moloney recorded season-best times of 8.19 in the 55-meter hurdles, 8.95 in the 60 hurdles, 24.12 in the 200 dash, 54.23 in the 400 dash and 2:53.07 in the 1,000 run. Moloney also helped Ithaca’s relay teams to finishes of 1:36.04 in the 800 relay and 3:37.58 in the 1,600 relay, while notching marks of 1.74 meters in the high jump, 5.36 meters in the long jump and 9.95 meters in the shot put. During the outdoor season, Moloney was the Empire 8 runner-up in the 400 hurdles and placed third at the state meet to earn All-NYSCTC honors in the same event. He tallied season-bests of 16.54 and 55.20 in the 110 and 400 hurdles, respectively, and clocked a 23.65 200 dash. Moloney also ran the opening leg of the Bombers’ 3:35.59 4x400 relay.
2008-09: Moloney was named to the outdoor All-NYSCTC team after placing fifth in the 400-meter hurdles at the state championships with a time of 56.73. He also placed sixth in the event at the Empire 8 Championships. Indoors, Moloney finished fifth in the Empire 8 in the 55 hurdles with a time of 8.53.
High School: A 2008 graduate of Somers High School, Moloney earned eight total varsity letters in track & field. He was an all-league performer in the 110- and 55-meter hurdles as a junior and a senior and the 400 hurdles as a senior. Moloney was a team captain and MVP during his senior year.
Personal: A physical therapy major, he is the son of Thomas and Carmen Moloney.
