Biography

2009-10: A two-time champion at both the ECAC and NYSCTC Indoor Championships, Mastrosimone competed in seven events during the indoor season of his freshman year and helped set a new school record. A champion in the 800- and 1,600-meter relays at both meets, he also earned All-ECAC and All-NYSCTC accolades for his performances in the 200 dash. Additionally, Mastrosimone helped the Bombers win the conference title in the 4x400 and in turn was named the Empire 8 Indoor Rookie of the Year. He set season-best marks of 6.75 in the 55 dash, 7.22 in the 60 dash, 22.66 in the 200 dash, 37.04 in the 300 and 50.79 in the 400 dash, while helping Ithaca to a school-record 1:29.66 finish in the 800 relay and a 3:22.52 1,600 relay finish, both of which qualified the Bombers for the ECAC Championships. During the outdoor season, Mastrosimone earned All-America honors in the 400 dash and was a part of three school records, the 400 sprint and the 4x100 and 4x200 relays. He set the school record 400 time of 47.80 with a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Championships after earning Empire 8 Outdoor Rookie of the Year and NYSCTC Rookie of the Meet accolades. He ran on two record-setting relays helping the Bombers to a 41.84 400-relay finish and a time of 1:27.60 in the 800 relay. The rookie was part of the state and conference 4x100 relay title teams and won the open 400 dash at the Empire 8 Championships. He earned All-NYSCTC honors in the 200 dash, 400 dash and 1,600 relay. Mastrosimone also recorded season-bests of 11.32 in the 100, 21.73 in the 200 and was a member of Ithaca’s 3:18.46 4x400 relay team.

High School:
A 2009 graduate of Fairport High School, Mastrosimone lettered three times in track & field. He was county champion in the 100- and 200-meter dashes and was a member of the 1,600 relay team that placed eighth at nationals. Mastrosimone also lettered in football.

Personal: An integrated marketing and communications major, he is the son of Rodney and Andree Mastrosimone. His mother is an Ithaca graduate.
