Ithaca College Athletics

2013-14: Carr was a two-time all-conference and all-state honoree after helping the 400-yard freestyle relay and 800-yard freestyle relay take second overall at the Empire 8 / UNYSCSA Championships. He appeared in the NCAA Championships and earned all-America honors after placing 12th in the 800-yard freestyle relay. 

2012-13: Carr was a College Swimming Coaches Association Scholar All-America Honorable Mention, earning a spot on the All-Empire 8 Second Team after placing second in the 800-yard freestyle relay at the UNYSCSA Championships. Carr also earned all-state honors after placing third in the 400-yard freestyle relay and the 200-yard freestyle.          

2011-12: Carr added three all-state honors and an Empire 8 runner-up finish to his resume as a sophomore. He swam top-eight times in both the 100- and 200-yard freestyle events, and was on the 800-yard freestyle relay. Carr moved up the Ithaca record board on both the 200- and 500-yard freestyle events.

2010-11: An immediate contributor as a freshman, Carr made the lineup for the state and conference championships and placed second as a member of both the 400- and 800-yard freestyle relays. He also placed fourth in the 500 free at the state meet. Carr's time of 47.27 is tied for 11th best in Ithaca history in the 100 free.

High School: A 2010 graduate of Brewster High School, Carr was a five-year member of the varsity swim team and a state qualifier for coach Clare Carr. He also ran two years of cross country and two years of track & field.

Personal: A physical therapy major, John is the son of Charles and Clare Carr.
