Biography

2009-10: Diamond was an all-state performer for the third year in a row as a junior. He contributed to the Ithaca medley relay teams that placed sixth in the 400-yard medley relay and 800-yard medley relay at the UNYSCSA championship meet. Diamond swam butterfly and individual medley events and his time of 53.94 seconds in the 100 fly was Ithaca's best time of the year in that event.

2008-09: Diamond earned all-state honors for the second consecutive year as part of the seventh-place 200-yard medley relay team at the UNYSCSA championship meet. The multi-event swimmer also scored at the state and conference meets in the 100-yard butterfly (10th), 200-yard breaststroke (10th) and the 800 free relay, 400 free relay and 400 medley relays. Diamond’s time of 2:10.77 in the 200 breast was the fastest of the season by an Ithaca swimmer and ranks seventh all-time in that event. He also ranks seventh in Bomber history in the 100 fly (52.49) and fifth all-time in the 200-yard individual medley (1:57.22).

2007-08: Diamond earned all-state honors in two relay events and one individual event as a freshman. He earned all-UNYSCSA honors on the 400- (sixth, 3;34.99) and 200-yard medley relay teams (seventh, 1:38.67). He was eighth in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:00.91. He also earned eighth-place finishes at the Empire 8 Championships in the 100-yard butterfly (54.00) and 100-yard breaststroke (1:02.06).

High School: A 2007 graduate of Junction City High School, Diamond was coached by Scott Kerr. He earned four varsity letters as a member of the swimming & diving team and was a three-time team MVP. He holds the school record in the 100-yard breaststroke, 100-yard butterfly and 200-yard individual medley and. Diamond was the state runner-up in the 100-yard butterfly and 200-yard I.M. as a senior after placing third his sophomore and junior years in the 100-yard breaststroke, 100-yard butterfly and 200-yard I.M. He also lettered as a member of the track & field team.

Personal: An integrated marketing communications major, he is the son of David and Barbara Diamond.
