Biography

2012: Shirley started all 18 games for the Bombers, making him one of five players on the roster to start every contest. Shirley was named to the Empire 8 All-Conference Second Team after guiding a defense that held opponents to just 17 goals all season. 

2011: Shirley appeared in all 15 games and made 14 starts as a junior. He recorded one assist, eight shots and five shots on goal. | 2011 Game-by-game statistics

2010: Shirley played in 12 games and started eight as a sophomore. He totaled seven shots and four shots on goal. | 2010 Game-by-game statistics

2009: Shirley played in 15 of 16 Bomber games as a freshman and made five starts. He scored two goals on the year. His first came in a 2-1 win at Cortland and the second was the game-winner in a 3-0 victory over Alfred. | 2009 Game-by-game statistics

High School: A 2009 graduate of Daniel Hand High School, Shirley was coached by Matt Link and Stan Latkowski. A three-year varsity letter winner, he earned all-conference honors and was named his team’s best defender.

Personal: A business administration major, he is the son of John and Doreen Shirley. His twin brother Dan and older brother Mike also attend Ithaca and are members of the soccer team.
