Eric Steinwachs joins the men's soccer coaching staff as a volunteer assistant in October 2020. Steinwachs began his coaching career at SUNY Cortland, where he spent three years before working as a volunteer assistant at SUNY Binghamton during the spring of 2020.
While at SUNY Cortland, he helped assist the team to a 41-14-6 record, two NCAA appearance, a Sweet Sixteen appearance in 2018, and two regular season SUNYAC titles in 2017 and 2018. Steinwachs has coached an All-American in 2018 as well as the SUNYAC Offensive Player of the Year, and multiple all-region players. Steniwachs was directly involved in goalkeeper training, where in 2018, the school record for single-season shutouts was set and ranked third nationally in shutouts and 13th in goals-against average that season.
Steinwachs has also coached at local clubs Syracuse Development Academy as well as BC United.
Prior to that, he had a four-year career at Mercyhurst University as a forward where he won two PSAC titles.
Steinwachs is a native of Buffalo, N.Y.
