Biography

2006: Hammes appeared in all 17 games as a junior, with five starting assignments, scoring two goals, collecting 49 ground balls and winning a team-best 101 faceoffs. He scored in a win over Rensselaer and netted the game-winner in Ithaca’s regular season victory over St. John Fisher. Hammes was a season-best 10-for-14 in faceoffs against Cortland and in Ithaca’s regular season win over Nazareth.
 
2005: Hammes played in 14 games with one starting assignment. He led the team with 109 face-off wins and collected 32 ground balls. Hammes was 12 –of 17 in face-offs against Oneonta.

2004: Hammes played in 16 games with one start. He recorded five points on three goals and two assists. Hammes collected 34 ground balls and led the team with a .716 (101-of-141) face-off percentage. He recorded his first two career assists and was 10-of-12 in face-offs against Merchant Marine Academy. Against St. John Fisher he scored his first three goals and was 11-of-15 in face-offs. In a win at Elmira Hammes was 13-of-15 in face-offs.

High School: Hammes was a three-year letter winner for coach Tom Cottrell at Homer High School. He was a first team all-league selection his senior season and earned second team all-league honors his junior year.

Personal: A sport management major, he is the son of David and Ellen Hammes.
