Biography

2009: Karkuff finished in 25th place at the NYSCTC Championship with a time of 27:26.

2008: Karkuff opened his sophomore season with a fifth-place showing at Oneonta, the first of three top-10 finishes he had in 2008. He placed sixth at both the Hamilton Invitational (26:57) and the Empire 8 Championships (26:29). The latter performance was a season-fastest and earned him first-team all-conference honors. Karkuff placed 75h of 230 runners at the NCAA Atlantic Regional Championships at 27:38.

2007: Karkuff competed in eight races as a freshman. His top finish came at the Roberts Wesleyan Invitational, where he placed 20th. Karkuff ran a career-best time of 26:28 at the NYSCTC Championships, finishing fourth among Ithaca runners and 53rd overall.

High School: A 2007 graduate of Cumberland Valley High School, Karkuff was coached by Skip Springman. He earned three varsity letters as a member of the cross country team. Karkuff also lettered as a member of the soccer and track & field teams.

Personal: A biology major, he is the son of Gary and Karen Karkuff.
