Liberty League Boat of the Week M2V8+ (4/22/19, 4/29/19)
2019-20
Monteiro the fall of 2019 Luke rowed at the Head of Genesee in the M2V8+ with a 1st place finish. Two months later he rowed at the Head of the Schuylkill in Ithaca’s M2V8+ pulling hard for a top half finish of 10th place out of 36 boats.
2018-19
Monteiro started his career at Ithaca in the MN8+ at the Head of the Genesee in 2018 with a first-place victory. In the spring of 2019 Luke rowed in the M2V8+ which won Liberty League boat of the week twice, in addition to getting 2nd place at the Liberty League Championship and 1st place at the NY State Collegiate Championship. His first spring season ended with an 8th place finish at NIRC in Worcester, MA.
High School
Monteiro attended Stonington High School where he competed in track, basketball, soccer, and crew as well as played in the marching band. Luke earned an ECC Sportsmanship Award, an SHS Crew Founders Award, and an SHS Crew Protege Jacket during his time at Stonington.
Personal
Monteiro is a Business Management & Outdoor Adventure Leadership major from Mystic, Connecticut. Luke is the son of Lawrence & Cheryl Monteiro.
