Jake Lentz '23 returned to the South Hill as an assistant coach for the men's rowing program prior to the start of the 2024-25 season. Lentz returns to the program after spending a year coaching at East Bay Rowing Inc. where he was coaching juniors in Rhode Island while also working at the local marina.
Lentz helped lead the Bombers to an outstanding 2025 campaign, highlighted by the Varsity Eight (V8+) winning the Liberty League Championship by a commanding 20-second margin with a time of 6:35.028. Ithaca also qualified for the Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) National Championship, where they won the Petite Final against Marietta, crossing the finish line in 6:00.900. Lentz, along with head coach Justin Stangel, was named the Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year.
Lentz was a four-year member of the Bombers men's rowing program, was a two-time co-captain during his junior and senior seasons and was both a Liberty League First Team selection and earned Second Team IRCA All-American in 2023.
