Ithaca College Athletics

2003-04: Backus played in 11 games for Ithaca, scoring 14 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Against St. Lawrence Backus scored four points, a career-high three rebounds and had a blocked shot. He also scored four points against Hartwick and in the Empire 8 semifinal versus St. John Fisher. Backus was named to the Empire 8 Presidents’ List in the spring.

2001-02: Backus played in eight games, scoring 11 points in his first season. He scored a career-high five points and added two rebounds in 15 minutes of action against Hobart.

High School: Backus earned two letters playing for coaches Mark Akins and Doug Loffler at Lisbon Central High School. A two-time captain, he was named first-team All-NAC and All-Academic NAC for two seasons. Backus also won letters in baseball and soccer at Lisbon.

Personal: The son of Michael and Linda Backus, he is a physical education major.
